He faught it for about 10 minutes I dont know why I didnt grab my cell phone from the start . We both carry fluro leader material as we tie our own , but pretty hard to tie that 50 lb stuff into a snell . Weve had pretty good luck with the 30 though , need to find something as durable as the 50 that I can easily tie . Only other thing I use is 80 lb power pro to tie my sells but its not nearly as abrasion resistant as the fluro .

if your looking for abrasion resistant you should try flourbraid by spiderwire. only downside to that is that its spiderwire haha but 2 strands of gortex make for some pre strong stuff ive used it at wabumun alot and if pike cant bite through that stuff i dont know what will

I've got a couple rolls of 50lb that I use for pike leaders, but that stuff is a little much to work with, and there's no chance of properly snelling a hook with it.  30lb you can just barely tie but it ain't pretty.  Maybe I should grab myself a spool of 40lb and just start crimping everything together??
Just puttin' it out there...

I thought about that to but I dont think it will flutter the way it does when its tied , so gotta rule that one out . Only reason I posted it without sound Jay is so I could post it on my website . took a few hours to do but it worked . I need to start carrying the Handi cam .

I was in there today and ended up getting a spool of 30# Big Game Fluorocarbon leader material and a spool of 40lb Big Game mono.  Think I'll toss my roll of 30lb as it's a couple years old now anyway (even though it hasn't been exposed to much light etc) and is cheap enough to replace, especially if it saves me from losing another big fish.

Incidentally I got a rematch tonight and got her in with the 30lb fluoro leader materal on my snell  8)
