everyone got out ok... the water is only 5-6ft deep where they went down... any local in the area knows not to drive there because ALOT of trucks have gone down in the exact same spot

You think that they wouldn't drive where the open water is!!! 8)  Sorry couldn't resist.  Glad at least they got out safe.  Not sure what they are going to do to get the truck out now.

the water wasnt actually open there b4 it went down... the open water is because of the truck going down... so u can see that a large area there had very thin ice...

Amazing it stays so thin even with a warm winter.  That has got to suck to be that guy that goes through.  Must have taken 10 years off his life as well.  I can't imagine what it would be like

I wouldn't call him stupid Walleyes.  Who knows what the deal was.  If they have never fished it before they might not have known the ice is normally thin in that area.

Well maybe not,, but he ain't that bright I'll tell yah that. Driving on a lake that he may or may not have experience on and in areas where one shouldn't drive. The big thing is is he was more than likely driving where there were no tracks under an obsruction and that on a warm year.. Call it what you want but He is smarter on the subject now lol,, or maybe not one never knows now a days..

You are correcto on that!  Makes me wonder how many trucks had issues like this for this year?  I bet there were a few we have not heard about

Its not just that spot any narrows on a lake are usually thin from water flowing from one part to another in the summer there is actually a current there.

Exactly correct.  Any narrows are a potential danger.  This is a tip that all ice fishermen should be acutely aware of.
Good point DW.
