Utikima Ice Fishing
« on: March 25, 2014, 01:52:43 PM »
Got out to Utikima couple of three weeks ago, took our shack out and stayed on the lake. The lake is dead since they cut it from 3 walleye to 1 over 50, no one really fishing out there. Walleye were spotty, we got a few, couple over 50 that we cooked up in the shack, lots of pike action. Second day we found the perch in the afternoon they are hard to find in that lake and mostly small ones, but was tough fishing as the temp dropped with a wind and it was cold as heck. In the morning it was -36, shack kept us warm though. Here's a couple pics.

-36....ouch.  The shack paid off big time I bet.
Send that perch to the CFL....looks like official size.   :)

Nice looking fish, you would sure need a shack to fish in that temp..

Wow Beautiful fish... looks like they are getting some size to them again.  Hopefully no more winter kills for a while and maybe we'll have some jumbo perch roaming the waters again!
