Website changes and mobile devices
« on: April 17, 2016, 05:59:07 PM »
I keep getting these reminders from google that the site isn't mobile friendly or responsive. Google then tells you they punish the page rankings as a result. This has been going on for the better part of the year. I am wondering how many of you use a mobile device to use the site?

I am looking at some mobile friendly themes, but non of them fit our design. That means I will have to modify them myself to make the site look like it looks now, the look of it is simple and user friendly. So you may see some changes coming up to the site. Also as a result we may lose some features like the sidebar facebook feed, the banners, and the new photo area, but we will see.

Sometimes I'll visit here using my iPhone but I seldom post anything with it cause typing on a small screen sucks..

Rarely use a smart phone to access the site.  Smart phone friendly site layouts are a pain for the PC user.  That narrow layout is not ideal.

Same here might just drop in and have a look on my iPhone sometimes while waiting for momma at the store or something like that but rarely try and use it.

Axe what I am looking at is responsive, so if you are on PC it will be full screen, it won't be more narrow. If you are on a mobile device it will fit the screen.

That is great, Paul.  I see what you mean about responsive site design now.
I was thinking more about sites like 630 Ched who have that terrible narrow design.
