West Coast Trip.
« on: August 21, 2021, 08:32:14 AM »
Did our west coast trip this summer again. Last couple years we’ve been going out to Ucluelet, love it out there. A lot less fishing pressure than most of the inside areas and the regulations on the inside are making it a limits impossible to keep a fish. Most of the inside fishing the fish are reserved for the natives and the whales, none for whitey.

We were out there from July 24 - 31, just my oldest son and I this year. Fishing was decent with offshore waters producing most of or Salomon and Halibut of course. We had no issue getting our limit of Chinook and Coho with the biggest being 22# and average weight probly around 17#. This was the first big test for the new boat and I must say it performed excellent, I think I have finally found my forever boat.

Few pics of our trip.

All geared  up and ready for the week.

On the troll off the rocks.

Got in to quite a few vermillion which are excellent eating fish.

And lots of salmon

And this beauty, just under the size limit by 6 cm. A 127cm approx 65# Halibut my sons first. Lots a power in that fish.

Beautiful pictures Walleyes.

Did you have to worry about that sea chicken bashing and damaging your boat hull when you brought it in?

Thanks.

Nice trip, thanks for posting. One activity I have yet to do is fish on the ocean.

Thx gentlemen.

Yes fishing the ocean is an experience, just the whole environment is different than what we are used to.

Grey Lynx,, you do have to watch with fish like that for sure. When I brought them in I jumped on him pretty quick and went to work on him with the club. I keep my boat pretty clutter free so not a lot for them to destroy but still they can make a mess.
