     As of recently only reservoirs with manned supervised  boat launches
    can be accessed by anglers . All waters in the south will be closed shortly
     due to the heat . And could very well remain closed .
      The EID,WID and BOW River systems are totally paranoid about invasive
      species , zebra mussels etc ... Reservoirs fishing days are numbered .
      The water kings have been working for years to keep you out .
       I believe they may be on their way to getting that done .

The attempt by these water boards to stop boat usage in one reservoir and then 10 miles down the road allow it is absolutely inasane and just plain stupid. Each reservoir in a system is connected through the canal system, you can have over a dozen lakes that are in effect the same water body. Not to mention all that water is diverted out of the rivers either the Old Man, S.S or Bow River. If you have an invasive species enter the system in just one of these lakes up stream it will travel through out them all on its own, a boat is not going to make a difference. Just another control method. No wonder I left that south country, that was my biggest grievance with that part of the world. You ave a few hundred land owners in control of millions of acres of community owned resources, its ludicrous. Most of them big ranches down there actually own very little land, they make a living of of public owned land yet dictate the usage of  the whole area.
