100 yard pistol challenge
« on: February 20, 2017, 04:46:27 PM »
Holy smokes 100 yards is a loooong way out there and it ain't that easy to hit paper. :o

I shot over a box of ammo and the best I could do is 5 out of six hits on paper. Most times I was only getting 3 - 4 hits out of six....Here's what I used..

Ruger new model Blackhawk in .45 long colt with 7.5 inch barrel.
Ammo was Sellier & Bellot 230 gr JHP
Target was 12.5 inches wide by 19 inches high.

I also tried with my Ruger single six .22lr but we won't talk about that. :-[

Good shootin, old John Wayne couldn't do that. You should be in one of those old western's, they kill bad guys with their revolver at a 100 yards all the time.

Darn good shooting.

And old J.W. would have done that off the hip I might add  ;)

Point of aim was very top of target so I'm thinking we had about a 6 - 8 inch bullet drop.

Waiting to hear from other handgunners...Coachman? Jimmy808?.. and others. 8)
