Any k-31 enthusiast's here?
« on: January 12, 2016, 03:34:20 PM »
Just wondering if anyone else has and uses one of these superb rifles?
Or if anyone has a interest in them I will answer your questions to the best of my ability.

O excellent.I'm into all firearms but the k-31 has been a pleasant surprise and a bit of a fascination of mine for the last year or so.

I think most of us suffer from being into firearms a little too much,, just ask any of the wives lol..

I do enjoy guns,, not to the extent some gun nuts do,, they are a tool too hunt with for me if you know what I mean. I do enjoy shooting somewhat smaller guns like plinking at gophers is fun but I am not big on sitting there and shooting at paper all day. I don't know,, learned at a young age that paper tastes like crap,, why spend all day hunting it lol.. I tend to spend my time trying to perfect my hunting skills and learning my quarry. But I certainly understand the draw guys have to guns that's for sure,, they are interesting and fun. As well it's always good to have the gun guys around to answer any questions a guy comes across.

Yes sir I have a K31 and love it. :)

Picked it up at Wholesale a few years ago for only $299,also bought a crate (480 rnds) of GP 11 ammo.
Really accurate rifle and I mean really..lol. One to two inch groups with the iron sights but holy smokes is it a heavy gun..
I don't know why the modern rifle makers (Winchester Rem..etc ) never chambered their guns in the 7.5 x 55 Swiss because it's a great round
I searched the serial number and according to it my rifle was made in 1953,tag is still under the butt plate too.
I'm up in Fort McMoney working right now but next week I'll post a pic or two of it.. ;)

Since you're into the swiss, any experience reloading for the 9.3x57?  Data's tough to find;  experience to draw from would be great.

No experience here Hammer but just like you I almost ordered the clamp on mount but so far it's on the back burner.

I'll bet with a good mount and scope that you could get a sub moa group with GP11 ammo.

You boys would have been in heaven if you were where I was last Friday. I was at a gentlemens place just east of Pierceland, Sask. I won't put up the guys name cause I am not sure if he is into all the computer stuff but if someone wants I could pm a name.

Anyways the man is a collector and a bit of a smith but man the military firearms he has,, some real beauties. He mostly collects Belgian shotguns and  pre ww11 military arms. Please don't ask me which ones cause I am just not big on them guys but he has a couple that he suggested are VERY rare. One an old English gun that was used as a sniper rifle.

I am going to return there with my boys in the near future and will take some pics for you guys. He does have quite the assortment for sale so like I said if you guys want to talk to him I would give his number in a pm.
