Here is my custom built by my good friend Bob at Customgunworx,

A few Specs on the rifle,

.280 Ackley Improved
Pre 64(from around 1946) Model 70 long action
24" Ron Smith 1in9 gain twist stainless barrel.
17oz. Wildcat Stock
Sleeved and trued action.
Skeletonized bolt handle and trigger guard.
Fluted bolt and barrel.
Slabbed recoil block.
Blind mag.
Black Cerekote

2-7x33 VXI Leupold scope.

Weighs in at a hair over 7lbs with scope and sling.

Wow great guns! I think my next will be a custom 338.
Here is my .270wsm it a christensen Arms CArbon one extreme. 5.5lbs without scope removable muzzle brake.

Here is my first custom and im addicted!!

338 lapua shooting 300gr bergers

shot at 370 yards

Barrel just came in for the new addition
rem 700 in 7wsm w/ a benchmark barrel (gonna be an ultralight)

also have a 300 Rum in a sako

I will post pics of the other two once the one is finished.

I was asked recently what I use for a hunting rifle had to think about that for a second or two. But I guess when I open the safe I usually grab this old Rem 700 7mm Rem Mag.

This is a mountain rifle out of there custom shop it was made in 1982 it was cool before cool was invented. The only thing I have done to it is have a Sako extractor installed. Like any good rifle for serious use it has a blind mag. Scope is a fixed loopy 6x42 with detachable rings and heavy duplex I use a military style shooting sling. The knife is a frank little custom that I usually pack around out and about and that ammo pouch I have used since I was 14.

Well I looked at a rifle on days off and by the sounds of some texts today I may be able to post pics of my second full custom mountain gun in the near future. Caliber is a 7mm-08AI and will come in 3/4 of a pound under my last custom. Ill update down the road when the deal is finalized.

My newest custom rifle. Not new but new to me anyways. 7mm-08AI based on a Remington model 722 action. Comes in at 6lbs 12oz. with scope and bullets in. We have a couple more parts we can lighjten and shave a bit more weight but im even happy with it as is. I topped is just like my other one with a 2-7x33 VX I as the come in very light compared to most scopes. As well it has mil dots wich I love.

Very clear scopes and awesome accurate. Mine on my .280ai rings the gong out to 500yrds every time. Not sure what I'd need a bigger scope for?
Plus I'm cutting ounces any way I can so no need to add what I'm taking off my gun with a heavier scope.

I just dont see huge benifits going from 33mm to 39mm. Id rather take the weight decrease. And as for the added zoom? I had a 3-16x scope for years and never shot anything but targets over 8x so thats something I dont feel I need. When trying to get as close to a 6lb rifle with scope and bullets every once counts. Im hoping this gun will be 6 1/2lbs at least when im finished with it.
