Date on a Chinese T56 SKS???
« on: December 19, 2015, 08:38:15 PM »
I picked up a BNIB and still in cosmoline Chinese model T 56 but I can't find a year stamp on it anywhere.
Is there a way to find out when it was built by the serial number?

I'll post some pics of it later on after I get it clean.

Thanks Bruce I just got home today and am in the process of cleaning the cosmoline off it but by a quick look it seems that it was made at state factory 26 in 1957..

Lots of good info in that link...thanks again. :)

Well I got one of the twins cleaned up and it don't look to bad. Some milling marks on the barrel but I think that is typical for Chinese sks rifles. The wood looks pretty good and that spike bayonet looks wicked.  :o

As for accuracy well it shoots saucer size groups at a 100 yards, pretty much normal. ;)

Anywho I happy with it.

BTW...the other twin is up for sale.I paid $550 for both so price is $275.I would consider a trade for a .410 double or pump.
