Nice rig, it's a shame how production guns are going. At one time an off the shelve gun like your beautiful Rem. was the norm. . If you where to buy a gun like that today it would be a $2000.00 rig. I think the art of the gun might be fading unless you spend big money.  Now days production guns have all gone to cheaply made disposable style. Guess that's what people want.

Some nice and some unusual guns this week. This one I have dressed up to go to the party, but hasn't been invited yet. The sling is a no drill style out of a guy in the states ( Gun Stock) is the name of his company.  It's a new Winchester 1886 in 4570. Waiting for a set of Lyman sights to show up for her and then party time.

Love it sonny, thinking of going with a Ruger Vaquero in 45 long colt, and then a matching lever in a Henry. I will never understand why I can carry a rifle that can shoot a mile, but can't strap a side arm to my hip when I'm in the back country. It would be cool to see you handle that Blackhawk at that distance.

Coachman used to plow snow when he was range master but I don't know about this new guy.

Might have to wait until spring..But yes Lever I will get her done.  ;)

Sonny you are a bad influence. Just before I came on here I got off the phone from ordering a new 1V in 243. I will put my 44 mags up against your 45"s  come spring.

I like the lines in  the stock sonny, cheek weld should be great on the butt stock. The duck head sets it off also. Hows the balance?  Be neat to see you hammer a few clay's. And of course a few winged animals to. Video of you shooting it would be great.

Brothers this week. Both 1885's. Winchester 405 and H&H 375. The 405 I had the stock redone as I did not like the finish on it from factory. The guy that re did it told me as he was working on  the forearm it was showing up with a nice natural blond in the wood. He suggested I keep it there as that's how it was suppose to look, it just got covered up at the factory. I am quite happy how it turned out. The look is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is in it natural state, and I like that idea. Beside's makes it more of one of a kind.

It does, I won't lie. Quite a difference between the 405 and 375, although the 375 is a magnum the recoil pad helps it a lot. Last week when I was in the bush I shot half a box of shell from the 375 and the shoulder felt good the next day. The 405 makes me kind of like the old cowboy guys, to stupid to know when it hurts. But I love the gun.

Well go big for dem gooses, This is a Spanish 10G made in the 50's. Double trigger hammerless. Now on the odd occasion your finger can slip off the first trigger and hit second and both barrels sing. And recoil is a might harsh at them times.

Very nice side lock and the sling swivels are very nice European touch. Big medicine.
