When I was 5 my dad brought home photos of a scene he attended as a cop where a kid blew his brothers head off with a high powered rifle, same deal, kids were playing with it. Now that's almost 40 years ago, but I never forgot one of those photos, and I remember my dad telling me "this is why you don't ever play with guns" and we never did, we never touched his guns, ever. Education, responsible storage prevents this types of tragedies.

Sad stuff indeed.

Gun Safety and education is the need here. I am not a big believer in storage as i am education and repsect for firearms. We all grew up with guns not being locked up and i dont think there were any more issues then than there are now. Its the same old thing we have to teach kids to respect guns. I dont know the case here and i hate to even speculate at what happened but in some cases today i think do to the way society is with all the violance in kids games and movies i honestly think kids lose respect for what guns can do. When my boys were growing up when they goofed off around a gun there was,no talking nicely or even sternly about it,, it was a boot in the ass and hard or a stick over the ass. The repsect was ingrained into them from a young age.. Hate me if they wanted to but there was no mistake about how serious guns were.

Very sad.  RIP little man.

I agree with Walleyes.  Respect for guns in my house has no wiggle room.
