Tang Sight On A Savage 1899b circa 1908
« on: March 18, 2015, 08:00:53 AM »
This was last summer with my .303 Savage with the Lyman 1A tang sight.  Shooting 30 grains of IMR 3031 and a 170 grain Sierra flat point.  Best i can do at 100 yards.  Im 43 in a couple weeks and dont wear glasses.  Definitley might have to try some load development.  30 grains of IMR 3031 and a 170 grainer is a go to load for any and all my .30-.30's i have ever owned and groups were tighter but with a scope.  Bore is awfully dark in that old girl as well.....

I also have a 1953 Swiss K31 and with a good rest and GP 11 ammo she shoots really nice. :)
