Proud Day
« on: July 13, 2021, 08:04:27 PM »
Something to share. My middle son has been into long range shooting the last few years and has been working hard at it. Assembling his own gun, practicing and practicing. Lots of home work goes into this type of thing. Building and designing your own loads and so forth. I’m sure there are a few on here that understand and can appreciate what it takes to get to this level. Last year of course the matches were shut down but they have been able to get a couple going this year. He usually shoots 4 matches a summer. He just recently finished a match this past weekend and did very well. There wre some big name shooters at this match, shooters from across Canada, some that have been at it for years so for Jordan to get into that caliber is quite an achievement.

Just a quick summary of the shoot.

Location:
Rob Furlong Marksmanship Academy
Hanna, Alberta T0J0Y3

2 day sanctioned PRS match at the Rob Furlong Marksmanship Academy range. Expect to engage targets 500-1400yard. 18-20 stages with a round count of 200+-. Friday will be a sight in day with target out to 800 yard min.

Calibers allowed are 223 rem to 30 cal, under 3200 fps.

Jordan shoots a fully customized .65 Creedmore that he designed and assembled.

That is absolutely wonderful.

Practice, Practice, Practice.

My long range don't even make it to where they start shooting lol. Cool sport to be in. I assume that means 3rd place? Congrats either way to your son.

Jordan was at it again this past weekend.

80 shooters from across Canada at this one. Jordan took home the top prize at this event.

Well done son.

Hi:

I know nothing about this type of shooting competition.

I was wondering if everyone shoots a Sig? Does everyone have a Trijicon site?

How long does that Sig aluminum barrel really last?

How are mirage's dealt with?

Basic questions.

Thanks.

You know GL I have no answers to your questions sorry. I have only communicated with Jordan on these matches over the phone and of course I have seen his rifle and his rifle room but I have yet to attend a match. Hopefully next summer we get a chance to see one of his matches.

Sorry bout that.

Out of 80 shooters across Canada, that is a major achievement!
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Thanks for the reply Walleyes.

I notice the shooters laying on the ground.

I worked in that area once upon a time.

The first thing that went through my mind is how many ticks jumped on Jordan for a blood meal?
