reloading Presses
« on: February 10, 2014, 06:48:27 PM »
I was wondering what everyone is using for a press ,I still have my RCBS rock chucker press that I got when I first started reloading years ago, but now that I am loading for a couple of larger magnums and using bushing dies and trying to critique my reloading skills I am wondering if there is a better press out there. My rcbs  has being working well, but sense I have being checking my rounds with a concentricity gauge to try and minimize bullet run out  I notice some rounds have a lot  more run out than others  after I get done seating them. Is the something I am missing here  or is that the norm.(and yes I clean and check my dies )

Hello!

Your issues are very unlikely to have anything to do with your press. They are built well, and have few moving parts. Even fewer of those would have an effect on run out.
You are most likely having other issues associated with brass prep and bullet seating.
Without knowing all about your procedures and equipment, diagnosing problems over the interweb can be difficult.

Dinty Moore is to shooters, like spinach is to Popeye.
Hell of a thing, killing a deer. You take away all he's got, and all he's ever going to have.

Well thanks for the reply Rman,Yes I know that it is hard to say what the problem is with out all the details, maybe when I get home from work in a couple of weeks I can sent you a pm and we can talk on the phone and go over procedures and equipment I use.
                                                               Thanks
