I'm heading west for grouse . I have a few boxes of 12 ga slugs , taking
With me as a precautionary measure . Can I shoot these in my new semi auto
Without having an adverse effect on the gun . Thnx

That's a good question. I don't think it would make a difference but there is added press I would think with getting that slug moving. Interested to se what people think.

I did some interweb searching on it. Apparently it's fine the issue is with the choke, seems the general consensus is it should only be done through an IC ( improved cylinder ) choke or more open choke.

I've shot slugs out of my Ithaca semi auto with a mod. choke and works just fine,no issues at all.

But I usually use #7.5 or #6 shot on grouse,not slugs.. lol

I'm going back to Manitoba to see if I can meet up
With the one I missed last year .....I thought I hit him
With the old 375 HH but he just kept on trucking .
I've trimmed up the Griph so he won't lose him this year .
I'm thinking slugs .....out of the old versa max
