« on: July 03, 2011, 01:56:52 PM »
This information was very hard to find online, so I thought I'd post it up here.

From American Handgunner Nov/Dec 2009.

.30 Carbine velocities from Blackhawk, AutoMag III and M1A1 carbine.

PACT chrono at about 6 ft.

---------------------BlackHawk------------Automag-----------------M1A1-------------
110 Win JHP---------1479------------------1570--------------------1947--------------
110 Rem FMJ--------1485------------------1615--------------------2011-------------
110 Fed FMJ---------1484-------------------1575-------------------1954------------
110 DWM FMJ-------1473-------------------1504-------------------1901------------
110 Sierra JSP------1452-------------------1521--------------------1989-----------
(14.5 gr H110)
115 Cast RN----------1431------------------1397--------------------1718--------
(14.0 gr AA5744)

Some more info from somewhere else (Blackhawk)

PMC 110 FMJ---------1507-----  sd 46
Federal 110 SP--------1511 ------- sd 71
Hornady 90 JSP---------1711------sd 46
(14.8 gr AA#9)
Speer 110 Plinker-------------1555----------sd 55
(15.5 gr H110 MAX LOAD)

Also, Wikipedia lists an experimental S&W revolver with a 4" barrel as doing 1227 fps with GI ammo (which was loaded to 1900 ft/s at 53 ft, meaning a muzzle velocity of about 1960 ft/s)

Truth be told I was googling GagaYard and found Boberama on a guns forum, I was reading all the negative comments about Gaga that they were putting, that made no sense at all.[/qu
