Very stupid law, but no. Can give 12.6 to heir and they become 12.7 meaning they can own but not buy or sell 12.6.
Have a luftwaffe marked walther ppk, which is 12.6 due both to barrel length and being .32 (an even stupider (or should I say liberal logic) law. From 30 yds you'd have a better chance of hitting a barn by throwing it than firing the gun.
My 357 however will target shoot with a rest impressively at 75 yds.
The laws are based on what liberals feel is scarier, that's it in a nutshell.
Here's an even better one. Have a brit marked antique webley and a Cdn marked Boer War webely which is not only not an antique but 12.6 despite likely being older than the, "antique". Catch is the antique is mkIII, the older Cdn historical gun is a mkIV. Since webley didn't keep accurate records the mkIV's were randomly deemed not antiques, well, most of them, and that even gets muddier.
Here's a list of casting marks you'll find useful, Sonny:
http://www.castpics.net/subsite/ProofMarks/Proofmarks.pdfYou have to do some research, as some true antiques are not antiques according to Cdn firearm laws.
Should you start on the road to antiques though you'll have to start reloading.
