My 300 has a thumb hole and I love it. Its the natural shape my hand likes to be in when i am shooting. Works well for me.

I've never used a gun with these so I couldn't say whether I like em or not. Although I dont really care for the look of them compared to a traditional stock they may be practical.

Shot some right handed ones but being left handed was a bit different!
