Weird bullet...

I've never seen bullets like this before.It looks like one is stuck in an other. ???

Yes they are all like that in the two boxes I bought.

The weird looking one is a Sellier & Bellot,the middle one is a Prvi and the other one is a Hornady custom.

All are 8 x 57 mauser 196gr soft points.

Thoughts?

That is weird.  Looks like a sabot round, like a paper patched bullet.....so to speak.

Different stuff that's for sure.
When I first looked at it I thought maybe it was an early type of excelerator bullet, you remember those, I still have a few for my 30-06

Interesting, I have a few old boxes of 8X57 in my collection down stairs, they where my old man's I never paid much attention to, I will need to dig them out and look at them. Maybe the same?
