What's your oldest firearm?

Just curious as to what your oldest firearm might be that you still shoot or take out into the field every once in a while?   Mine is a Savage 1899b in .303 Savage circa 1907 gifted to me from my Uncle which my Great Grandfather used to feed the family back in the day.   If only it could talk.....

My second oldest is probably a 1930 Mosin Nagant 91/30 (hex) which btw is an old Cossack Dragoon that was refurbed after WW2...yes the rear sight base tells the story.

.303 British made in 1943. But it has a modern stock that was put on it who knows when. Was my first big game rifle of which I took my first moose with at age 14. It has a history in my family as it was an older brother in laws for some years as he was growing up and my father purchased it for me when I was 14. Still as smooth and sloppy as the day it rolled off the block.

Tossup between a Canadian issue boer war pistol and the same model bulldog that assassinated James Garfield.

I've been continually half looking for a Lee-Metford (Canadian issue of course) but haven't found one. (the one used in the zulu movies) I only know of one but the owner won't part with it.  I'd like a Ross and a St. Ettienne for son's collection but simply can't justify the price, although they're around.  Still kicking myself for not buying a mas36 I saw for a reasonable price at a gunshow.

Unfortunately my wishlist is much larger than my historical gun fund.  :)

Beauty Sonny!  Are there any armorer stampings in the stock?  The one pic it looks like there may be?

There's a couple stamps on the stock but I don't know what they mean.

I'm certainly no expert but it looks to me the top pic is a victoria regina crown stamp and below that I would guess the broad arrow marking although I've never seen a broad arrow like that.  The most common Cdn. broad arrow is an arrow within a C.

Can't really make out the middle stamp, no idea what the E would be;  couldn't mean enfield rifling as that would be on the barrel.

Sure if you do a little research you can figure them out though;  lot's of enfield collectors and good info on the internet.

Is there anything on the sided of the buttstock?

I have a first year of production winchester 94 that i still take for walks now and again.
I dont really think of it as old
Most rifles are built to last well over a hundred years in the hands of the average joe hunter if they are taken care of.... Or at least they were

I have a handful if others made betwen 1900 and 1920 that still shoot fine as well.

Pardon me but can I please have my country back?

My three oldest would be a turn of the century stevens favorite, a 1930s vickers martini, and my m1 garand
Sorry I don't ice fish or hunt rabbits, but I did stay at a Holliday in express last night.

1930s vickers martini

Now there's a prize with some lofty lineage!   So,uh, is your garand an IHC?  The farmer in me needs to know.  :)

Nice to see many with some wonderful old firearms.  Tangible items bring history alive.
