Agree 8)

David :)

Depends what is in store that day!!  The 17 hmr is my favorite gopher exploder, with the 223 a close second.
I pack a truck gun that is cheap durable accurate and goes everywhere I do, in 243 win hand loads with v- max's for yodel dogs. And nos PT loaded for when its got to punch above its weight class . Rigged up a nice 300 winny as a longer range gun topped with a decent leupy mark 4 , but ill be the first to admit that I got a lot of learning when it comes to twisting the dials.  Made a horse trade of sorts this last fall and picked up a 300 bee, ran the factory 200 gr PTs over the chrony and was quite impressed. Much more playing on need with that one.

But when it's time for something to just be put in the freezer no fuss no muss , I reach for my late 70's BDL in 7MM RM and get Er done. It s almost become like a superstitious good luck charm now. Like someone else said " when I point it at something it just dies." Lol

There are so many cartridges out there these days to choose from, a persons favourite usually does not have to do with it being "the best" but just what they like.

A lot of times it has to do with what one likes in a rifle and then what cartridge.

In an earlier post I said the .300 savage may be my favourite.  In reality the rifle is a Savage model 99 lever action.  I like the rifle and have two in .300 sav. and one in .308 win.  But it is one of the .300 sav. that I often reach for.  I have seen the odd bolt action in .300 sav. but am not interested in them at all.

I have a Winchester Model 100 in .284 win. and one in .308 win.  I like the .284 better just because.

My .264 win. mag. is a winchester model 70. and is the rifle I have hunted with the most.  I like the rifle and have another in 6.5X55.  If it had been my first rifle it may be my favourite today.

In the past several years a number of "new" cartridges have come along but none have really turned my head.  Well, the new .17 winchester supper magnum is one that presently interests me.

7mm rem mag.... cuz its fast, its flat,  and its dropped everything its ever been pointed at

X2 LOL.  More importantly, I own one and that's what I shoot, so ipso facto, it has to be the best.   ;) ;D

You can't beat the fun of a good ol' 22LR either, unless of course, you have a 17HMR!

One gun  12 gauge

many different rounds from one gun.

I can shot grouse to moose  (within reason) without doing any mod to thr gun.

6.5-06  I like it because I had a long action and a 6.5 barrel on the wall at the time.if I would have had a 7mm barrel it would have been a 280 or 280 ai. caliber is irrelevant to me
