Scorpion Optics?
« on: September 14, 2011, 08:21:04 PM »
Anyone using these scopes or rangefinders? They have a lifetime warranty but i hear they are cheap chinese junk that is more than likely to fail on you.
Comments like these of the interweb kind of have me scared to even try one out.

"overated junk"
"Some are crap"

When I seen it on WildTV, I laughed my ass off. They make bow strings, so they think they can make "superior optics"? HA!

Their name is on them but I doubt they make them. But I could be wrong.
im going to say that i wouldnt trust a scope maker that takes waterfowl hunting into consideration while designing these scopes, never met anyone who waterfowl hunts with a scoped shotgun

I looked through a scorpion 4-12 yesterday, even on 4x seemed to be bad tunneling and was unimpressed with the glass.  And there's that made in China stamp on the box.  Even with the excellent warranty I think I'd be looking for something else considering what price they sell them for.

Whats your thoughts on them?

Here to stir the pot eh Bob? Have you actually used Scorpion Optics? Are you bringing it up because Scorpion is supporting us, even though we are still small? I will tell you what, we are giving away a scope and binocs shortly, which Scorpion was good enough to send to us, for free I might add. I am also going to buy a Scorpion rangefinder for myself. So maybe you can win the scope and binocs, if you don't get banned again, and see for yourself. I will also report on the rangefinder when I get it. If you look hard enough I am certain you can find similar negative comments on many optic products even from some of the "higher end" manufacturers. Until you actually used it shut the **** up, you dink.

Gosh Paul I was just asking about them. Just seems to be a lot of negative comments on them since they are made in China.  I was asking before I bought like most people do. SO no i havent used them. I am researching them. I aint going to spend my hard earned money on junk.
I hope you do a full report on them for us to read.

Oh and for the record my name is not BOB! So quit calling me that please. If you really want to know my name please pm me and I will tell you.

I suggest you try it before you talk about it. And don't give me some garbage about putting a sponsor before the members, this thread is nothing more than full on troll, who the **** are you quoting? None of those quotes are even from this board you dink.

Enigma, your reputation (from other boards) preceeds you. You could have used a different name to make it less obvious.

I have a set of 10X42 Scorpion Binoculars and have been fairly impressed with them so far.  I got them about 6 months ago and have been using for 3D archery and now during hunting season.  I like them and haven't had an issue.  As for people's comments, I tend to not listen too much as most people seem to like to complain, I prefer to try things out myself.

I bought my first Scorpion scope to use on my CZ 6.5x55mm after a lot of reading and talking to other hunters.  I was fortunate enough to be able to examine the whole line of them at Badger Arms in Melfort SK so was pretty confident when I laid out cash for a 4x16x44 scope.    I was quite happy with the performance and the side focus provided superb clarity and resolution at longer ranges.  It provided a bright and clear image and the mildot was great for 100yd increments with the 6.5 cartridges.  This is a Canadian company that markets scopes made in China.  There is always a lot of negative reaction to new items as there was when Stoeger brought out the Benelli based inertia semi auto shotguns.    For me my Scorpion scope will stay put on my CZ.  I guess until you actually try one in the field one can never be sure you are getting good value for the money.....I think I have.

I switched over a few scopes this year to the scorpion 4-16x50, love the scopes!
also have a set of the bino's which are top grade

have a scorpion range finder (the small one) which works sweet but I should have got the angle compensating, missed a huge mulie in the hills forgetting about the angle adjustment.

IMO from experience-- nothing wrong with this product, great prices too
too many clowns, not enough circuses

I would be more than happy to win a set of bino's or a scope and try them out and write a review.  When's the contest start?  Your fault you said a contest shortly  8)
