Sleeping Pads - Exped UL 7 vs Thermarest
« on: March 10, 2013, 08:37:35 PM »
So on to the next most important item when sheep hunting......
Sleeping pads
Any input on the above mentioned?
I want decent R-value to try and stay with the Cat's Meow I bought last year but allow me to get a little more warmth for later season hunts.
The NeoAir looks interesting but not sure about the noise factor.

Probably the next big purchase for this fall......

Good thread.  I've only tried the regular blue foam pads and the thermarest and the thermarest is definately great to sleep on but quite a bit heavier relatively speaking.  Would be great to find something a bit lighter but comparable in comfort.

I was looking at the exped too - thought about one of those Klymit cots too, but have heard they may not be that great due to the design.

I am also looking at the DownMat Lite 5.

On long trips expecially in cold weather I back up my thermorest with a blue foam. I do not trust the termorest not to leak. I have spent a cold night winter camping when my thermorest developed a leak.
