I’m low on all my draws right now, so 999 this year. Generally elk and deer on the menu for me. Buddies have good priorities on a few animal though.

Got yet another g.d layoff slip this spring so 999 everything I guess because who knows what my schedule or finances will be this fall.
Have high priority for lots of things to of course.
Good news is the wife is applying for the first time so start getting her priority going at least.

I’ll repost here

We are changing it up this fall, no moose hunt for us. It’s just the one son and I from our house going this fall.
We are planning on going out to the Valleyview country and stay with my nephew who has some land and a cabin in the area. Going to put in for 1 cow Elk tag and get an over the counter bull tag. Something different for us, looking forward to it

After 2 seasons in a row chasing Bullwinkle my son and I will 999 our draws this year.

For years now, I can pull a Ant Mule Deer any time, anywhere in the province so that one just keeps adding points. Kid should be a 9 so he should be good too now. Gives me some time to find a good Mule Deer wmu. Been hunting a long time, I want one brute on the wall lol.

I will be a 4 on Ant elk since my around the Suffield base hunt in 2015, kid is near 9 so a couple years and we will both have enough to chase them together or one after another. Trying to build some Cow elk points along the way.

I'm 14 for Trophy Antelope, kid is 9 so he needs to catch up a bit more.

Moose is building for another kick at the big boys in 4 yrs.

The goal is to do the Mule Deer hunt together soon and then when the points it takes allows, do the Trophy Antelope together so we stay building the same points after that. If I'm lucky, the kid and I will get a second Antelope hunt in together but I will be an old guy by then the way it takes so long to draw that tag.

Before we pulled 2 yrs worth of moose draws, we did a huge all season scout of old stomping grounds west of Whitecourt and found a promising area with elk sightings, so this year we will be chasing general tag bull elk and WT up that way and maybe a couple tours through our go to zone by Calling lake as the WT numbers seemed to be promising on the couple sled rides we took this winter.

Crappy that my dad got old(just turned 83) and quit hunting a few years back. He has some super high points and could partner with my son on some coveted tags but that option is no longer.

Good luck to all, hope you get drawn.

Seeing as my next project is in Cochrane and a buddy grew up NE of there and has good access, I may draw my large priority for bull moose there.  Hopefully have a shot at a 50 incher with my bow.

Dad has enough priority for mulie in 134 or 138 but am holding off on that because the wife wants to go see our friends in Wyoming and shoot an antelope down there.

I have enough for pronghorn here but will wait because of work.

I also have enough for antlered elk in 102.  This will be a couple years away because of the Wyoming and bull moose thing this fall and a mountain goat hunt in 2020.  I am SUPER pumped for that 102 elk hunt.  We are going to do it on horseback and hopefully get a 300 inch plus bull.  I just think its going to be such a cool experience hunting elk on horseback along the milk river.

Good luck finding a 300" bull elk down there, I would have put in for 108 better chance of finding a 300"er

Got my cow Elk draw which is no surprise as I was a priority 8 in zone where you can get every second year.

This was our only application this year we just 999 the rest.

My son and I got all the priority points we tried for :) Back to some old haunts 3 hours away this year. Going to miss the 45 min drive we had to moose heaven these last 2 years.

General tags for us this year but before we pulled our moose draws, we found a sweet spot out west along the Atha B river where we seen a herd of elk with some small bulls and a couple nice up and comer WT bucks in Nov, so that will be our starting point when the season opens. Try and get to know this new spot a bit better. 3 years later so those antlered animals we seen might just be nice now.

Good luck to all who were awarded a draw this year.

Wainwright primitive weapon deer hunt for me and Antlered Moose for my son in our home zone. Between that and my Dall sheep hunt (starting in 3 days), it will be an interesting season.

Sounds like some interesting hunts coming up.

Don’t forget the cameras this year people and let’s see some of those hunts.

I actually didn't realize how good our fortunes turned out for moose this year with my brother's antlerless moose draw at our farm in Strathcona county.
I can get the partner license with him and our neighbor got the draw too (even on a 0 priority) so we can hunt together all licensed up.  The season runs from Oct 25th thru Dec 7th and we can hunt whitetails at the same time with the extra Strathcona tags and trust me, there are some dandies around there.  Shotgun, muzzleloader, crossbow, or archery!  There will be a couple of Mossburg 500 rifled slugsters in the mix for us; good out to an easy 100 yards plus.  The even better part is that we have about 30 quarters that we have permission on and some of it is pasture land that we run cattle on now with some great moose bushes and willow draws.  This is literally our back yard.  Might have to set up the wall tent in the yard at the farm just to make it feel right.....lol.  :)

Got camp wainwright second rifle, first time heading there so see how it goes.  Other than that same old sheep, elk, whitetails.   With any luck hopefully head to a river valley somewhere and try for a mulie with the sharp stick somewhere in there.
