Well I am off to the Dark Continent in 17 more sleeps.  Any tips from those of you that have been there?  Any help would be much appreciated.

Good luck Darrel!  I got an e-mail a while back of all of the critters that they have shot so far in the season and it looks like he shot quite a few great trophies.  You will have a good hunt with Chris.  Take a couple of cameras with you.  Keep a journal if you can find time as well.  If you get a chance as well try to get Chris to run you by the flea market in Jo berg.  I think it is in Pretoria and they have a lot of trinkets in there for keepsakes.  I also hear that to get Rands for money it is best to use the ATM machines in the airport in Jo Berg.  Exchange is better there and the banks don't screw you.  That is what I did.  Also call the credit card comp. and tell them you are going there so they don't shut your card down if you use it and they get nervous and think it was stolen.
Good luck.  I am sure I will hear about the trip before you get home!!!

Got the credit card stuff straightened away a while ago.  We had a similar situation while on our first cruise so we knew about that stuff.  Got the Cholera meds to keep away Montazuma's revenge.  Typhoid and hepatitis shots are done as well.  Our area is Malaria free so no worry there.
Species I want to target are.... Gemsbok and Warthog are must have's.  I want to keep an open mind after that.  I'll kind of go with the flow and see what happens.  Kudu would be ideal but pricey.  Bushbuck and the Wildebeest's are definite possibilities.  Impala and Zebra are up there too.
15 more sleeps till I leave.   ;D

It's nice the way you are doing it as well with not taking your gun with you.  A lot less stress and hassles.  Chris has some nice guns as well so you won't be using crap.

I'd love to have you drop by camp this year when you get back.  If you plan it right you can come help out for a couple days. ;D  I just had a guy backout of spotting and guiding for the 6-10th so I need to get a little help for a few days if you have the time
