« on: March 11, 2014, 04:49:11 PM »
Just in case anyone didn't get the email:  http://www.mailoutinteractive.com/Industry/View.aspx?id=548088&q=708166655&qz=417c04

New provider or whatever you call it.  Personally, I printed off our prirority's (I do every fall just so we have a running hard copy) .  You know, just in case.  Better safe than out P10.   ;)

I wonder how much this un necessary change is costing the tax payer ?? More of that borrowed money this province is running on being well spent,  cause you know,, this is important stuff.

I am speculating that the contract with IBM is up and they decided to go with another provider; ACTIVE Network now.
I hope these guys are better as IBM had quite a bit of down time in the past.

Now we just have to get our regs published by a different company too....... ;)
And lose the advertising and the useless how-to stories by the same old.

These changes were in the mix a couple of years ago.  SRD stated this was one of the changes that was coming and delayed the creation of an antlered mule deer archery only draw in some of the WMU's that is currently under draw for both archery and rifle seasons combined.  Anyway, not sure that it is money well spent or not, just that it was predicted a few years ago already.

Well it may well have been in the works for a long time I don't know but what I do know is that nothing is cheap for the government to do. I don't want to be such a hum drum but really is spending money on stuff like this really necessary. We are constantly told there are budget short cuts in our wild life devisions and then we have stuff like this,, I just don't see the necessity in it. If it as Axe says and it was a have to be then so be it, but if it's just something to do just because it's new and shiny,, why the waste.

Well, would you prefer they keep it status quo while other technology is surpassing the confidential information on that website??  When it comes to this type of technology, its always best to keep up to date , especially when protecting confidential information for people.  Last thing they would want is for a hacker to compromise that information.  Then we would be the first ones on them saying they didn't do enough to protect us.  Can't have it both ways.

Well, I guess. Like I said, I am just a grumpy old bugger any ways so what do I know. I am from the old school that believes in paying bills before you spend more I don't fit in with the new spend till you cant possibly spend any more new generation crowd.

Just feel this money could go to more useful places like walleye re stocking programs that they have gave up on because there was no money, Sage grouse re habilitation that has been slowed because there is no money, more antelope fencing in the south and a slough of more meaningful programs that could use funding.

Hey, I hear ya!  While having the sum knowledge of mankind at my fingertips never ceases to amaze me I struggle to, "come into the fold" as it were when it comes to online stuff.

Last year I managed to do my draws online despite sleepless nights expecting bogus credit card bills.  I just hope we can still buy our tags at a retailer, even if they are green.   Baby steps, eh?  ;D

Anyone try logging into albertarelm?  The website was supposed to be up on the 17th.  Neither wife or I could log in;  said our wins/passwords were invalid.

Got it figured;  Have to click on "new user" and follow the prompts, then it works.

I was able to log in but WIN number changed.  I sent them an email and they replied not with the answer I was looking for but with someone elses info including name, address, phone number and win number.  That can't be good.

Got it to work for me after a little playing around.  Went through the forgot password set of questions and it worked just fine.  Make sure you enter your drivers licence without the hyphen though.
