Another Ram less sheep hunt (pic heavy)
« on: September 03, 2012, 06:09:59 PM »
We got out a couple of days before the opener and put in a hard hunt. I knew when we started seeing the ewes that the out come was gonna be a little bleak. I did trust my source but figured maybe we were a month to early in the area. Other than no rams we did get into some of the nicest viewing country in the Willmore. It was also a little busy in there, I wasn't use to bumping into people. Might try the area again in late September. Here are a few pics.

Nice pictures...
Treat each day as your last; one day you will be right.

We left our base camp and was going to set up a spike camp. We stumbled upon this spot that ended up to be nicer than our base. There was huge fire pit that reflected the heat nicely back to the log with the built in back rests and large flat rocks that made for end tables.

We watched a band of ewe's slowly graze passed us on a ridge and disappear in the alpine. We walked passed were they went in and shortly after the group was running back behind  and then in front of us. Shortly after a wolf started howling in the valley below and the group looked to be short a lamb.
