Indirectly;  son has a turkey tag for spring.  I was looking around on google earth and, yes, figured I would pick  up a bear tag, since I'll be along.

Heck, planning pays off;  so we're anal.  Over the years my wife has figured out having a husband that's anal about planning is well worth it.  We Rarely have an unforseen problem pop up, and a good portion of success can be attributed to planning.

So plan away..........

I would tell you over pm I just don't like posting where I hunt on open forums. I got the elk pretty locked down. I was watching a few herds the few times I made it out that way during the general season.

I find I have to start thinking and planning for spring bears on Dec.1 or end of hunting season depression sets in lol! We're already planning a northern Sask hunt and will also be running my usual 8 bait sites in north central Manitoba. I'll start pailing and storing meat scraps right after Christmas, get all the repairs done on the quad from the last season and head out in late March to fill the drums. I never got into bear hunting until the last 5 years cause it didn't look too appealing to me...man was I out to lunch, it's a total blast especially after a long winter it's great to get back out hunting, you're going to love it.

Cant wait to get out for bears.  I never made it out last year due to chasing alligators and tarpon in Florida last May (and it was a blast).  Still a little unsure on where I will be going but definitely want to make the effort in 2013.
