Depop,
I've had three archery tags, and focused on using a decoy for most of the hunting. It is some of the most exciting hunting in Alberta.
All three times the Pronghorn's reaction to decoys was similar. Before the 17th, a few bucks would decoy, most were completely uninterested. Suddenly the switch would be turned on, and most bucks would come in. I would say the peak for decoying is the 16-20.
Some advice, tell your friends to practice setting up the decoy and shooting quickly. Things can happen very fast. And they need to practice shooting at
five to ten yards. Many people don't practice these extremely close shots, and yes, a person can miss a three yard shot. I forget why I know that.
