Big Whitetail Adventure 2013
« on: November 14, 2013, 01:08:14 AM »
Well headed out tomorrow for our annual deer hunt. Second year since my dad passed, he was always a big part of things, was always famous for his "primetime" phone calls, usually 15 minutes before legal light ended while you're watching a line or waiting for a big buck to show up. He lived and breathed hunting, and always enjoyed the success of others, as much as his own.

I probably shouldn't be going, I have so much work to do, but life is short, I can't really miss it, I will deal with the consequences later.

I have some new ideas this year, some spots I want to check, as usual I am going in blind, I don't have time to scout. I haven't killed a whitetail in 6 years, after many successful hunts, I have become extremely fussy, and with a freezer full of elk this year I will likely be more fussy.

I have a fresh coat of winter camo on the samurai, it's a novelty thing I suppose, but I do plan on using it as a blind.

Anyway i hope to have some stories and photos to share when I get back. To all the Alberta Sportsmen I wish you the best of luck in the dwindling hours of the 2013 hunting season.

Very best of luck to you, Paul.

The work will be there when you get back, trust me.  I am living that now.
You are right, life is short.  Get that hunt in and etch some great memories into your soul.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Paul, good luck on your hunt. It's not easy when you lose a father and friend that you shared so much with. The memories will always be there, cherish the good times spent!
