It's that time of year again when we start counting down the days to our expeditions. The other day before I left for work I emptied out the trailer and organized my stuff,, went through most of it and checked it out. Trailer all swept out and ready to load when I get home. I get home on Friday the 4th and we hope to leave early on the 5th. My middle son is coming this year his first moose hunt in quite a few years so that's awesome.

Yup just hanging at work and counting the days,, restless sleeps filled with every different scenario imaginable,, love this time of year.. Bring on the moose hunt..

Super excited about Muley hunting down south this year. 35 more sleeps til its time to go lol. Havnt hunted with a rifle in a bunch of years, this year Mama and I cashed in a pile of years of Muley priority and pulled tags in 162. Planning to go twice for 4 days. Just finished up a tough Elk season last night and starting what we hope will be a great Moose season tonight.

One of my Elk hunters brother has been seeing this stud every morning just a few miles from my back door, got my permission lined up this morning, hoping to anchor him in the next day or 2

The area he lives in is very open. There is decent bush nearby that I assume he beds in but unfortunately its owned by folks who have had some pretty serious problems with trespassing & poaching and have lumped all hunters together as being nothing but trouble. This is an issue I am seeing more & more every year and its sad. 10 guys can be perfectly upstanding, well behaved, ethical and easy to deal with but if one schmuck comes along and does something stupid we all pay for it.

I wish I could but it just wont work for a couple reasons. Ive got hunters here for the next 2 weeks plus there is just no place to call from on the property I have permission on. Shes as wide open as it comes. If I had the time I could probably hunker in and wait for him to wander by but I just dont have the time this year

I havnt seen a bull like that in years,, many many years.. Maybe this year.. We have two tags this year,, one for meat and one for horns.. Maybe the good Lord will be kind to us and give us both.. Even if he's kind enough to give us one I will be grateful.

I haven't bin on the site in a long time i came on specifically for walleyes story it's always an awesome read. We managed a medium bull this year come in on a string.

Just rolled in the house a few minutes ago and a bit anxious, plus I have been on nights for 2 weeks so it takes a bit to get back into the swing of things,, add on the excitement of packing tomorrow and getting ready it doesn't make a good recipe for sleep..

Just as a hunting story is better with a picture, a hunting picture needs a bit of a story to go with it.

Where, when, how (called him in you say) what is your rifle (looks like a rem. semi or pump?)

I got a trail camera picture of a bull the other day buy have no licence in this area this year.
