Draws..
« on: May 27, 2015, 06:11:41 AM »
Getting close boys and girls,, June 2nd is fast approaching.

The boys and I are heavy in the planning stage. We are planning on putting in our Moose draw for our old grounds again. We decided to give it a go again lol.. Last time we were up we said it was time to try something new but after much consultation with people I think we are on as good as spot as any. So we will hopefully get our draw and head up to our grounds.

I am very excited for another year out in the bush.  I will put in my moose, elk, and deer draws and see what happens.  Even if I don't get any draws it will be a great year!!!!

Looking forward to it as well.  Should get my moose draw in 302 (priority 15) and will be taking my son out for his first hunts in Alberta.  My daughter already has a bear on the board for the year.  Should be a great year.  I may even throw my name in for the suffield bull hunt.  I am a priority 7 so I am guessing that will not be enough but will take the shot.  There are lots of good bull elk where i will be hunting moose so there is no downside to not getting the suffield draw!  LOL

Despite forgetting to put mine in last year I have good priorities for moose, mule deer and antelope, because of my hectic life I cannot hunt for 4 months like Weste does, so I will likely 999 again this year except for moose, might try a combo moose elk hunt this year.

I am getting back up there on my Antelope draw,, at 5 this year.. Maybe next year I will start to put in for it again,, I like that hunt its was fun the last and only one I have taken.

Muly is up around a 5 as well but we are waiting for the right opportunity on that one. One of these years we are going to head N/W on a cow elk/muly hunt. We keep talking about it and never do it.. But man,, we like moose meat its just hard to find the time to do everything..

Ahhh...if only that were true!  lol  I forgot to mention that I put in for archery antelope in Montana and I expect to get that draw as well.  So its going to be moose in 302, antelope in montana, elk in suffield or 302, mule deer in 108 and helping my kids chase everything in between.  Damn I may have to take that 4 months off Paul!!  lol

I hired a 3rd year female mechanic today from Oyen, her families got a 2000 acre spread there that she said is polluted with antelope, may have to try cash in on my antelope this year lol

Well draws open up for application here in a few hours. I think I will be drawn for turkey and 999 archery antelope, antlered elk, antlered moose, non trophy sheep, wmu 212 antlerless elk, and wmu 410 trophy sheep. I will through my name in the hat for goat and bison as well. The rest of the family should draw a wmu 410 non trophy sheep tag and 3 wmu 212 antlerless elk tags

Best of luck to everyone applying.
Looking for the big bull!!!

Going to 999 most everything this year, I'll put in for Bison, and 310 muley. Trying to build some priority for the next couple years. Been having way too much fun running my dog on roughies the last couple seasons.
Sorry I don't ice fish or hunt rabbits, but I did stay at a Holliday in express last night.

Well my draws are in.  Should draw my cow elk tag in 338 and put in for moose in 336 doubt I will pull that one.  999 everything else.  Will start getting stands out this weekend into the bow zone.

Just put draws in, 999'd everything with the exception of mulie buck.  After 9 years of building priority because of the CWD fiasco in my hometown zone and so busy at work, I finally decided to pull it in a zone SE of Calgary where I do quite a bit of fishing and upland bird hunting and have seen some real good bucks along with only 15 tags a year making a minimum 7 priority needed to draw, hopefully this will be a good fall!

Ours are done now.
We should be hunting bull moose late season again this fall....my specialty.  :)
And whitetails of course.
999 everything else.
New system is good and painless.

Been thinking about starting to put in for Sheep. I know nothing about sheep hunting but I figure by the time I see a tag I can do the research.  Any recommendations of a zone to start building priority for next year?

Why don't you just buy a general tag?
