Exciting times!
« on: May 27, 2013, 06:45:39 PM »
Sooo, anyone else spending time poring over draw results, priorities, planning this, next yrs and the yr after's hunts?  Working up loads, getting equipment out and going over it to assure no problems when it counts?

Ya, I'm anal.

Is it just me, or is the printing awfully damn small on here?  I have to take my glasses off to see it?

Looks like we will head back to our grounds one more year and give it a go,, or jut bite the bullet and put in and head up to where we are thinking o trying ?? dilemma..

I dont have much for big decisions to make this year...999 across the board with the exception of a Muley in 162. Been waitin on the right year to go for 7 years and Im gonna do it this year. Im CRAVING to try a Turkey hunt but I just cant get there in Turkey season so its 999 for another year.

Junior turns 12 in 2 days,so with his hunter ed completed and WIN card in his pocket, I'll be spending the fall concentrating on his season. Whitetail and fall bear will be on the list. If my knee improves, a couple backpack sheep hunts will be on order.

Some tough decisions here but I may 999 most as I got drawn formula mulies and elk in Montana. I am priority 13 for moose so it's getting to be time to chase one somewhere. I am also a 7 for sheep in 410. A Lot of stuff to hunt and not enough time to do it all!!

And now I have Emily ready to start her own death toll so that will be my main Alberta concentration. Gonna be some good times!

Being new to it all just 999 it all to start getting something built, as many whitetail tags as I can get and fill this fall tagging along to learn as much as possible, and 2 bear tags next spring.

Drawing my moose for sure this year. Excited about that. Will be trying to harvest a 50"+ with my Hoyt and get it all on film. May also pull a mule deer tag in this same zone just in case a big guy walks out.

Antelope is a tough one as I am doing a river boat trip with a couple guys in BC for elk around the same time as antelope season so may 999 that.

Got 2 new backpacking tents so I'm itching to use them and may take one up and help up on the Nahanni for a few weeks. Was supposed to guide 3 hunts for Clay and Jim but can't now due to my back injury but was invited to come up and just help out and do some spotting since I can't pack much weight.

Then I'll be looking for bighorns but the extent of that hunt depends on what I can carry in and out. So it may end up into a horse trip as I have a couple new horses this spring that I'd like to take out and try.

Got the loads built and both rifles sighted in out to 500yrds and am shooting every chance I get so I'm ready on that side of things.

I hunt sheep to see over the next mountain not to measure the next trophy!

Probably doing antler or antlerless for 406, maybe both. Haven't decided yet.
Probably 999 everything else, not really sure where to go for other stuff as spend most of my summer in 406.

I will be doing my usual solo elk trip out west.  Planning a few other trips also as time permits.  Got a new bow to play with this year so can't wait.

Nothing special this year unless I draw a 444 Trophy sheep and then I'll a patrner up with my 12 year old daughter. Should be drawing a nt sheep tag in 440 as well and a remote chance for mnt. goat in either the Persimmon or Deveber area. I have a ton of priority for mule deer and antelope but have no plans in the near future for them.

Another year of triple 9's

Just don't have the time to do all the hunting I want to  :-\

By the time I am ready for moose I should be a priority 20 lol
