After not hunting for 20 plus years it feels good when you get a rooster on opening day.

If I could only have one gun it would be a 12 gauge over and under. I enjoy upland birds better than any other game, but elk would be at the top of my list also. 338 win mag for elk.

Nice looking bird you have there. I haven’t shot a wild pheasant in years only ever end up seeing a few in the places I hut for Huns anyway. I can always tell when the dog is on a pheasant Point after point and tracking last one we encountered took close to 20 min to flush I didn’t even have a license would have like to have shot it for the dog.
I never like talking about the good old days because I believe these are the good old days but… I look at my dad’s old hunting pics and holy crap where there birds in the 60s
Off to Montana next year to see if I can get in on some pheasant hunting heaven.

I would love to have a German Shorthair, but I would have to wait till the bulldog is gone, he does not play well with others. He has aggression issues and would not trust him around a puppy.
