From Scouting Picts to Success Picts
« on: September 05, 2013, 03:43:22 PM »
Some of you might remember the thread where I posted some scouting pictures.

Well on September 4th 2013 I was able to full fill a 10+ year dream of killing a velvet mule deer.
Icing on the cake was that he was a target deer that I had been watching grow for 2 months and have a lot of footage of him.

For those interested I put a quick tape on him at the taxidermist and goes just over 177" green

Sorry for the short note but I have to head out, I have a bull elk tag to try and fill

Awesome deer Kyle! The top of that hill looks pretty familliar ;) You been seeing many elk lately around there?
Sorry I don't ice fish or hunt rabbits, but I did stay at a Holliday in express last night.

Was on a solid bull tonight, got to 58 yards. He was every inch of 345. The girlfriend was with me and I wanted her to shoot him so we tried to get closer but it didn't work out. Back on him in the morning

Well this morning I took a cow elk; perfect shot and she only made it down hill 80 yards before piling up. The shot was 37 yards and had a complete pass through. I also had the herd bull come by at about 26 yards; he was a 7X6 that would have gone about 320. I let him walk to live another day; he just isn't what I am looking for. Going to go back and start chasing the other heard again; the herd bull there is quite a bit bigger over there

I was going to start a new thread but I figured since I do have ample scouting pictures of this guy that I would just add to this thread.

September 15 2013 was a very eventful day for me. I managed to take this great bull and I'm super happy about that. My girlfriend was standing right beside me when I should so it is that much more special that I got to share it with her.

Enjoy the pictures and best of luck to everyone else
