Went out with the wife today to try and fill her mule deer buck tag
It was a cold damp frozen ice fog kind of day.
as we were glassing hillsides we saw a few nice deer, but nothing but spike and forked bucks which in their own right would be just perfect for her first buck, but nope they weren't good enough.
As we were driving back along a stretch of gravel she noticed a couple deer off to the right and as she yelled "buck" I slammed the truck into park and we hopped out.
I loaded up the guns and asked here if this was her deer and she said yes.
200 yard shot and he ran gimped up into a small depression and didnt come out. As we got closer the two ran off again but this time the shot rang out and he jumped into the next hole and did a lip stand.
Not the biggest rack by Alberta standards but a nice big bodied mule deer for the freezer.
