Fullcurl, that is a STUD of a deer! I want one just like him! Gunbuilder, we took our daughter out when she was 17 months old. She rode around in a back pack for the day during my antelope hunt.

My 12 year old daughter's first deer. Nov. 30, 2012, 5 minutes into legal light, 140 yards one perfect shot through the heart and lungs with the .243. She was one very excited kid, and I was one VERY proud papa that morning!!

I know that feeling for sure!! Watching her shoot that little mule deer was by far the highlight of my season.

I liked this thread when Darcy started this. We have taken our kids out hunting with us as young as 17 months. I found this video a couple of weeks ago and just got it uploaded to youtube today. There's no game on it, but it shows how to pack in a young one who gets tired, lol

The wife and I have a baby due in the beginning of october so I was thinking the only way Im getting out whitetail hunting will be with the baby strapped into one of those snugly things like on the hangover, not sure how the wife will feel about it....

Thanks, Yeah it will be our first. We took my nephew coyote hunting when he was 2 weeks old, at 2 months should be ok lol. I was already informed that I wouldnt be going away to hunt deer with a newborn at home so I told her I would hunt close to home then hahaha.
