Well it all starts today. 1 week trip for spring bears.

Then 14 days in BC the end of August hunting goats and sheep with a couple buddies, get back from that and pack right up again for our second annual Father/Sons sheep hunt for 3 or 4 days.

Then take it easy and maybe hunt a few days the middle of October for sheep then take the last week of sheep season and hit them hard. May pack in to Forbiden Creek for that last week.

From there its maybe one week to hunt deer the middle of November.

Then the fun starts. Thanks to some new friends from this past year ill be able to chase cats again. Will be taking 2 weeks off to help them with their hunters then it sounds like the one houndsman is gunna try and run a cat for my son after he turns 12 Dec.7.

And through all that hopefully capture as much as possible on video for a possible new hunting show that may be out next spring.

After that hopefully get some time to chase predators but if its like this year i wont get much time off in the winter and if I cant hit the wolves any better than I hit the three I shot at this year I might as well work LOL
I hunt sheep to see over the next mountain not to measure the next trophy!

Draw time's coming up fast!
We had been planning Wainwright, but a change in son's schedule has put the kaibosh on that.  Locally the last two winters have been pretty hard on the ungulates, so I think we'll just 999 that.  With all the water as long as the nests don't get rain-flooded the bird hunting should be good anyway.  Heck, I've even started building a boat blind!

We're debating between trying for a moose draw, or maybe hunt elk to the west on a general tag.  As usual, we've been poring over the regs, maps, past draw results, and google earth since, oh, Christmas, but that's part of the fun.

Nothing in stone yet but heres some of the options:

-Goats in BC
-Sheep around here
-Mule Deer around here
-Maybe Elk if time permits

-Oh and an Alberta Goat tag  ::)

Not a whole lot for 2011.  Possible Desert Sheep and working to pay off my Afircan trip with Zambezi hunters next year for Leopard, Buffalo and Plainsgame!

I tag along on a grizz hunt this spring [once the snow melts some more] with a fellow from work....back up you know!!

Then we head up into 7b in BC august 28th for early moose, then bull elk & WT bucks opening Sept1/10 respectively, all else fails cow elk open on the 15th...the first trip is 21 days minimum...and then we come home and hunt any moose tags we have left and mule deer until the season closes late november. Last year my season went 75 days straight off work and out hunting.....gotta love it.

I've got the following planned:

-BC Goat hunt (if all goes well and things fall in line with permits, etc)
-Alberta Sheep Hunt (late season)
-Sask Whitetails

No draw tags this year (unless I draw 438C or goat!!) and will be concentrating on the goat and sheep hunt.  I'll mix in some birds, some general stuff, etc.

I was considering having my wife draw an antelope tag but we MIGHT wait until next year....tough to say.

Sheep.
Likely draw my moose tag with my dad.
Depending on what is left for vacation time either WT here in AB or head to SK.
One can always dream about drawing 438 sheep or mtn goat.

Elk in September and early October
If I draw a tag, muley buck late October and November, hope the big one I saw last year made it through the winter. He'll be a toad this year. If not I might put my buddies son on as a youth partner, try to get him a decent one.
Throw in a whitetail tag in case a big boy comes out to play.

John, not sure that the new gun is going to extend your range.  I think it will just put more steel in the air which is good too.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?
