After a very slow start to the hunt I was able to put my tag on a bull last thursday. The begining of the week was very slow and after trying several different valleys with a fair bit of sign the bulls seemed to be non responsive. Then on wednesday I tried a different area and things were looking better as we found a few cows in the area. Thursday morning we headed in and I thought I blew it when I bumped a cow. I continued on another 30 yards and could see another moose up a creek bed but his front half was hidden by a bunch of trees. After about a 20min stand off he stepped into an opening that gave me a clear shot. After a short tracking job he was mine. While not the biggest bull out there I was very happy with him and it was a great hunt.
