railway hunting

I've looked in the guide but can't find a section on whether or not you can hunt on railway tracks often there's really good runways crossing them for deer or moose. I've been to other provinces where you because it's considered government land for 200 meters either side. I don't know if applies in Alberta as well?

I dont think railway right of ways are government property. If you read the signs posted along the right of ways they say, Private Property no trespassing..

Never really thought about it, not for big game anyways we sometimes hunt grouse along the tracks. I guess depending on where and what track and how busy it is i would think saftey is a big issue.

Did a bit of research,, actually it only took 2 min on google  ;) it appears it is government property but technically it is illegal to enter the property.
