Saddle Hills elk
« on: October 17, 2014, 04:05:50 PM »
Four of us went to the hills for elk.  Three of the guys had cow draws, while I had a bull tag.  We came home with all tags filled.  The bull was a five point, while the others were all cows, no calves.  There were two more guys there, camped in the same yard as we were, and they got theirs too, one bull and one cow.  No shortage where we were - it was like flock shooting!!!  It is great to know and have permission from the farmers there, as they are most helpful, because the elk destroy their bale stacks over the winter.  What they don't wreck, the p all over.  Needless it becomes inedible for the livestock.

Good stuff Rick,, glad you guys filled some tags. From what I hear the moose were a little tough for you guys this year so this meat will be an awesome bonus.

I didn't get up for moose this year.  Unfortunately I had doctors appointments, so I was not able to go when the boys went.  I had to make up for it with elk!! ;)
