Any reports out there?  Heard she is a crazy busy opening week.

Hope to make it out soon just waiting for the right opening.

Haven't heard anything yet, but will be out right away.  I think the weather has been really bad thus far.

Not a sheep guy myself and this shows why, just to busy in them hills. One would think them mountains are the only place to hunt lol. Nope I'll stick to my swamp and bush any day. We tried it a couple years and it just really didn't appeal to me. They are beautiful no doubt about it but the crowds just turned me off.

One day when I can afford it I'm going to hire a guide and let him take me a I'll take a ram and be done.

Not everyone catches the bug.  I've taken a couple guys out that I thought would love it no doubt but it's a different kind of grind especially via backpack and not for everyone.  Never held it against anybody.  Wouldn't consider myself a die hard either but I do love it and only have so much time to hunt each fall and just can't seem to say no to the hills in trade for other hunts that would be awesome to do.

As far as pressure goes opening week is always a busy time but it really drops off after.  I gave up hunting the opener and feel the chances are just as good considering how much less competition there is.  With that said I have noticed more guys out throughout the season the last few years but still no where near opening week numbers.

For sure each to his own. Some guys are hard core and I respect that for sure. But personally I'm not in to suffering for a hunt. I'm not one to want the big 5th wheel out in the bush I like my wall tent but man, some sheep hunters suffer man lol.

No I like my big fat Rib Steak over the fire with some roast taters in the afternoon. I like to be able to dry my clothes after a long wet day. I enjoy camping alright just not quite as hard core as what it takes to be on the side of that mountain. I like to be able to get on my quad with the power steering and idle along the trail with the hand warmers on sipping my hot coffee. Get out to the calling grounds lay back on my quad rest my back, let it cool down a bit stretch my legs out. Call till dark then make my way back to camp, fire up the gen, get the lights going, stoke the fire have a cold beverage at the table, have some homemade buns and jam lol. Crawl in my nice fluffy sleeping bag on my extra wide cot, you know. Thats about as rough as I like it lol.

I wanna get my mountain hunting done before my knees are too broken to handle it.  I really enjoy horse trips, back packing and humping up the hills.  That said I would be perfectly happy hunting birds, and whitetail.  A good mix is best for me.

I know of 6 down, one close to 190". 50 trucks out in that area between 6 access points so those who hunt there know where I mean. Too busy for this guy, saw the crowds and went fishing. Guys are making it worse every year by making it a competition to see who can let the most lead fly at first light.

We were onto sheep.  Barely legal rams, not what we were after.  Trip was cut short by poor weather.  Might go out again later in oct.

Just got back from a short trip, tried a new spot that I've wanted to hike into for a few years and bumped into a couple rams on the way in.  One looked like it had the makings of being the victim of the easiest sheep hunt ever, but just a bit short.  Would have been a good first ram for my partner real nice and deep.  Once we got into where we wanted to go it was pretty slow with only a ewe and young ram spotted (probably hers).  Judging by the sign we missed the majority of sheep by a day or two.  Good trip though always happy to see some signs of life in a new spot.

Will add that I invested in a sleeping bag liner for this trip and wow what a difference maker.  Got pretty darn cold at night and was toasty as could be.  I got the Sea to Summit - React +15c.  Worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.

Been eventful but pretty sad for putting stuff on the ground lol.  Last two falls I've had more time to hunt than expected with oilfield being down but haven't folded a tag.  Last big game animal I shot was in 2014 and working like a mad man.  Rushed out to the field after work where some elk had been frequenting.  Got set up and twenty minutes later put an arrow through a bull elk.  Funny how things work.
