Good read Bruce thx for posting it.

For the most part nothing that will effect my hunting opportunities but still its good to see some issues are being addressed such as the moose hunts in the MH area. I know of a coup-le land owners in the area that would look foreword to removing a few of them from their land. Also the extended upland game bird sounds great as well. With me being away so much any season extending my opportunities when I am home are welcome.

Interesting read.  Not sure I agree with issuing 2 antlerless elk tags in Suffield rather than double the number of hunters.  They could easily make the season longer to accommodate these extra hunters.

A longer chicken season works for me.

Thanks Bruce.

Agreed.  I definitely like the idea of an extended bird season.

That was my thought as well.

Disappointing there is no concern for cutting supplemental whitetail tags in boreal zones ravaged by predators, hard winters, and over harvest of antlerless deer.

I actually like the 2 cow idea on the base, as someone who has been out there on a few occasions a problem is elk getting pushed into no-go land. Allowing hunters to harvest 2 will result in the immediate population reduction which is urgently needed. I'd also prefer to see opportunity spread but with tight finances I understand why this route is being taken. I was more surprised to see the 100 bull tags a season for next year, might be kind of crazy. Unfortunately all the hunters i know with priority are trapped in the WMU 300 draw so no opportunity for an easy bull out that way in our group. The trophy quality is sure going to take a dive in that zone come next fall..

One has to really ask themselves why would you need two cow elk tags on the base. Everybody bitches about lost opportunities, so know we just want to be greedy. Kinda the same people that bitch about the deer problems, as a hunter if you want to fix the problem apply for the tags and don't fill them. What does it cost $3.50 to apply, a small price to pay to help do your part in game management.  ;)

I don't know,, a cow elk isn't a very big animal I know our family could use up two cows in very little time. A person almost needs two cows to make it worth while.. One is good,, two even better lol,, why not.

This would have been a prime opportunity to promote hunting. Should have given tags to youths.

Dang I am in on this one. As a matter of fact 3 of us are going in.

Never hunted before in that neck of the woods. Up for a new adventure. Love it.
