Spotting game off the top of a drilling rig question
« on: June 07, 2019, 03:36:30 PM »

Something that has made me wonder for years when I drove by a drilling rig.

Would a person be able to spot game if they put on a safety harness and climbed to the top of a drilling rig with a spotting scope or binoculars?

I know some of you guys are probably laughing your heads off.  But could you?? :) :)

I’m not sure I understand the question, are you asking if someone would allow you too. The answer to that is most definitely not. In this day and age that is pretty much impossible to allow.

If your asking can you see game from the yes most definitely. The boys often spot game from the monkey boards and take pics.

I was just wondering if it was possible. There is no way I would give it a try. I know I would end up with a rig worker's boot half way up my butt before the mounties hauled me away. :o :)

As for satellites, Apparently, some of the stuff out there  today is amazing, and could be used for spotting animals.  I think our Axeman knows about that kind of stuff. :)
