Weste, all I know is I am glad I am not a bowhunter like you. I think if I was into bowhunting as much as you and tried to kill a Tur with a bow it would be a long haul!!! Those mountains look pretty tough. Check out a few video clips on youtube on Tur hunting.
Good questions Shrubs. I don't know if we will have horses help much or not to be honest. There is no way they will get up the mountain. You hunt at 10 000- 12 000 feet I believe and it is too rough for horses. You mainly hike to the top and set up a base camp to hunt out of. Compared to Alberta this will be rugged. A lot of the time they do not let you climb down to get your trophy and they will get it for you. Youtube has some great videos. The fun and good news is that Gunslinger and I talked tonight earlier on and he said he is in and will be sending his deposit in early next week. So as it sits right now we have Buckbrush, Steve, Gunslinger and Nube headed off to chase goat looking creatures on some real wild mountains!!! I think with a crew like this we will for sure be in for a good time and I am sure we will have a few stories to tell. The only worries I have are getting guns there and not falling down the mountain. If I fall I don't think I will be telling any stories! On a side not to this if anyone is up for a Marcopolo / Ibex hunt in 2015 and is interested please let me know. I have plans for that next and need to put together a list of serious guys interested to do that.Boy oh boy the Marcopolo/ Ibex hunt sure sounds tempting. I'm not sure if I can get the Warden on board with this but wouldn't mind getting a little more info on the hunt.Good luck on the Tur hunt. Looks like a good bunch of guys on a cool hunt.
