Water or lack there of !
« on: July 27, 2017, 02:29:02 PM »

After the run off and the rainy season , things were looking
pretty duckable , for awhile . But the evaporation is on , last two
Years good potholes were hard to come by .
Anybody live where there s to much water laying around .
I had planned on hunting 24/7 this year , the missus is retired
with a new gun . We may have to move where the water is .
Only a month or so away , till quacker time .
It's so hot here , I saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking .

You must be in the south I'm guessing. Up north herte the water tables around the places I play seem high. But any give spot a few miles away from each other in Alberta can be a different. I'm hoping for a drier fall this year, it was so muddy last year in the bush, it was a bugger to hunt the big animals.

Yes in the N/E as well we are full to the top, the bush is crazy wet this year, creeks are full, every slew is full to the top.

Draw a circle around Edmonton for 80 miles.  The water table continues to be quite low.

Pot hole shooting used to be pretty good around Edmonton.  Those grain fed puddle ducks make for good pepperoni and super Chinese dishes at my neighbor's house.

I loved how the dog jumped into the back of truck when he/she smelt gun oil going behind the cab seat? And when the cold weather came, the dog sat up front under the heater both before and after the hunt. That was good because you could blame your  farts on the dog.
