I reckon A might be good.  But B would also work.  If the deer "jumps the string" which really means he DROPS at the sound of the shot, then B would be better that A.  However at 26 yards the arrow would get there pretty quick and jumping the string may not be a big factor.

If I had to think about all that when faced with this chance, I would probably miss the opportunity.

I would shoot for A.

Shoot A all day long, and I am comfortable that I would hit B 99% of the time.  They end up just as dead and you virtually eliminate hitting the humerous by going for A.  I might go an inch or 2 lower than A but that just me, I prefer the bottom third of the chest cavity.
