NAP SmartRest (drop-away)

Less than 100 shots through this rest. Excellent rest, drops fast, quiet, lots of adjustment and shoots very well.

Decided a drop-away was not suited for my hunting conditions. Went to a whisker biscuit.

First $50 takes it.

Would this rest be good for a beginner shooter?

Would you be willing to ship it down to Lethbridge?

I need a new rest but don't want something that is going to cause me problems while I am learning to shoot and trying to take my first big game animal ever.

Thanks,
Nate

Hey Nate. I would not recommend ANY drop away for a beginning bow hunter. Too many moving parts.  Go with a Whisker Biscuit and when your really proficient, you may want to change things up. Or, you may find a Whisker Biscuit is all you need.

Ok Thanks,

I am glad there is some honest people out there willing to help someone better themselves at a new sport and not trying to just sell whatever to make a buck or two.

No worries.

I liked the drop-away for target shooting, but find the Whisker Biscuit better suited for hunting.

There are lots of options out there!

Hey nate

I have a Hostage Pro that is very similar to the Whisker biscuit that you are looking for.  You can have it to try if you want.  I live in lethbridge.  PM if you want to try it out.

Rick

Doug - Does this rest stay up while you are drawing the bow?

Thanks

Yup- rises as you draw. Drops VERY fast on release.

Does it have the option of being up before you draw?

Nope. Here's a link with some more info. http://www.newarchery.com/products/2-33/arrow-rests/quiktune-smart-rest.html

I removed the "arrow holder" (plastic clip on the top of the rest) at the dealer when we first installed the rest. It was more of a hinderance than help.
