8000 acres big?

My boss just purchased 8000 acres of land. I was there doing some work for him and it is prime hunting ground.  Can anyone put 8000 acres in perspective?  Is this a large area? what I saw it looks great.

Almost correct.  12.5 sections yes, but that is only about 3.5 miles by 3.5 miles. (3.53 x 3.53 = 12.5 square miles or sections)

That's huge ,  with that amount of land it will take you three years to scout all of it . Lol

Its a huge amount.  Deer could live and die on there without leaving the property.

Thank guys.  I thought is was a good chunk. Did some more work out at his site the other day and we did see some deer there.  Talked to one of the locals working at the site and he told me the pervious owners were anti hunters.  So the land hasn't been hunt and is loaded with game. (again, just hear say).
Now to make buddy, buddy with owner.
